New Mommy- Month 3

Its been about 3 and 1/2 months since our precious little Sophia came into this world.
We have been so blessed with such a sweet little girl that has stolen our hearts. She has a smile that will melt your heart and a personality that constantly has us laughing. She looks just like her daddy but I can see a lot of her little personality in me.

Its hard to believe how much she's grown in just 3 very fast months!
I never quite understood when people would say "Don't Blink" but I do now! Its just unbelievable how quickly she's grown. Everyday she does something new that amazes me.

Being a mommy has become much easier. I know her cries and (most of the time) I know how to make things better. There are times when new things occur, that I feel completely overwhelmed. For the first time the other night, she was sick...more than likely from teething (yes, already!) It was heart breaking to see her in that pitiful state and I could hardly take it! I'm so thankful for my hubby who was quick to help and assured me that everything was okay. I am so thankful to have him there by my side! There are still times when I become overwhelmed and when I do, I try to remember a quote I read right after I had her: "You only need to make it through 10 seconds at a time."
Its amazing how true that is.

When You Take Your Little On A Trip

This past weekend my hubby and I took a little weekend trip to Myrtle Beach. This was our first trip with our sweet little Sophia. We weren't sure how she'd do traveling and being in her car seat that long. After this weekend, I have to say that we've definitely been blessed with a very happy and good natured baby. She did so well!

She slept most of our trip and was awake for the last hour of it. Packing for this trip seemed to be a bit overwhelming for me. I was afraid I wouldn't pack enough things or even forget something that I'd really need! This short little trip was a great opportunity to learn how to travel with a little one and what you need and don't need!

Bottles- I packed 5 bottles and a whole container of formula. We also picked up a gallon of water when we arrived at the beach. 5 bottles were plenty enough for us. It would also be a good idea to take your bottle brush along with you!....or even pick up a cheap one when you get there.

Diapers- this is one of those things that you really don't how many you'll need. I took along a whole basic size package and then a whole tub of wipes. Also be sure to carry along a changing pad. More than likely where your going won't have a changing table so when it comes to changing diapers on your hotel bed or couch, this may come in handy!

Clothes- pack more than you need! More is better than not enough. We arrived at the beach on Friday evening and left Sunday morning. I packed around 7 outfits and a few onesies. During the few days we were at the beach, the temperature soared into the 100's. It was hot....which resulted in a sweaty baby- especially when we ventured out. I ended up changing her outfit 2-3 times each day.

Entertainment- our little one is 3 months old. At this age, its hard for her to occupy herself with toys. She's just starting to grab a hold of things. She loves to look around at things and loves when you talk to her. Right now, she loves watching TV. When all else fails, we'll turn on Disney Jr. Nothing like Mickey Mouse Club House & Doc McStuffins!

Sleeping- our little Sophia sleeps in a co-sleeper at our house. While traveling, we wanted something small and compact to carry with us. We brought along our rock 'n play. This worked perfectly.

Miscellaneous- blankets for chilly morning/evenings, a sunhat for those bright and sunny days, a stroller for your outings, tylenol/gas drops or any other medicines you may need, a portable dvd player for your trip to help entertain them and dvds and a baby carrier for when a stroller just won't work!

Goumikids- Baby Mitt & Boot Review

Goumikids creates smart, stay-on hats, mitts and boots for babies. They are made of soft organic cotton and are specially designed to stay on.

Goumikids sent us a pair of their adorable mitts and boots to review. From the moment we first saw our little one in her early ultrasounds, she has always had her hands up at her face. Now that she's here, she continues to do the same thing and sometimes scratches her sweet little face.

These sweet and stylish little mitts were perfect for her hands! She was so tiny that other little mitts seemed to just fall right off her hands. These were perfect! They have a velcro strap to keep them on! I also loved the fun design on them! She seems to be impressed by the bright colors as well!

We also received an adorable little pair of matching boots. I really loved these little boots. Her little feet stay SO cold all the time! Finding socks that are small enough (and that will stay on her feet when she's wiggling around) can be difficult! These boots, like the mitts, have a nice little velcro strap to keep them on!

They look so adorable on her sweet little feet!

One thing that I really love about Goumikids is they give back to the community.
They give a portion of their proceeds to efforts that protect children & improve the lives of girls globally. ( Read More Here )

Sweet Star Creations Onesie & Burp Cloth Review & Giveaway

Sweet Star Creations creates adorable personalized embroidered items for children.
They sent us an adorable onesie and burp cloth to review for them.
I was so excited about this review. When corresponding with them, I was asked to select a onesie.
While browsing their Etsy shop, I automatically fell in love with this one. While I was pregnant, I heard that if you sang to your little one that they could hear it and would remember that song. I began to sing this sweet little song to her whenever I could.

Even now that she's here, I still sing it to her!

I love how fun this onesie is with the bright colors, sun accent and the arrangement of the words!
Every time I see this on my sweet little girl it makes me smile!

I also received this adorable burp cloth to review!

Finding a good burp cloth that is absorbent can be tough. This one was super cute and worked great!

I just love browsing through her Etsy shop! She has such adorable things!
